We are pleased to announce the hire of Phil Sorensen as a UniServ Director for the Aurora-Littleton UniServ Unit.
Phil Sorensen is a retired high school Science teacher and former local association president from the Lake Tahoe area of Nevada. He earned a Bachelors of Science in Education from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and a Masters of Arts in Teaching from Grand Canyon University in Arizona.
Phil has lived in North Carolina, Wisconsin, Alaska, Nevada, Idaho and California throughout his life. He now calls Colorado home along with his wife and dog.
During the past decade Phil has been very active at the state and national levels of NEA in a variety of ways. Phil brings a passion for organizing and advocating for teachers, public education, and social justice to Aurora – Littleton.

Tommie’s experiences as a Special Education teacher in Denver and an active member of the Denver Classroom Teachers Association, as well as his experience with Ed Summer in 2015 and 2016, have prepared him well for the organizing work that he will be doing in Aurora and Littleton
Tommie is a native of Cleveland, Ohio, and completed his undergraduate studies in Special Education at Ohio University. His graduate work in Education Policy Foundations and Practice was completed at the University of Colorado—Boulder, and he has made Colorado home, with his wife and daughter, ever since.
Christine has lived in Colorado most of her life, graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School, and getting her dual bachelor’s degree from the University of Phoenix in Denver. She has worked for companies such as Village Homes, Pella Windows, and has been with the Aurora Littleton Uniserv for seven years.
